What Song Has the Line Everybody Has a Baby That Why I'm in Love With You. Pretty Baby, Pretty Paby

Picture this: You've orchestrated the perfect at-domicile appointment for your pregnant other, featuring candles, wine, and a lovingly dwelling house-cooked (or lovingly ordered via app) dinner. But just as your person texts you lot that they're on their way, y'all realize that y'all take no idea what sort of music to play to retain the romantic ambience. After all, yous can't have your early on 2000s guilty pleasure songs come upwardly on shuffle while you're trying to stare lovingly into your partner'south optics (nil ruins the mood like the distinctive "youuuuuu" at the commencement of "Soulja Boy." And aye, that example is based on a true story).

Anyway, I've got y'all covered with my list of the nigh beautiful, hopeful, and achingly romantic songs ever written (in my humble opinion). Y'all'll have your crush/partner/Bumble date swooning.

"ROS" - Mac Miller

Most romantic lyrics: "I'm in your heart, I'm in your dream/ And then fuck the world it's you and me"

Rationale: When the outside world becomes brutal, many couples plough in and develop that u.s.a.-confronting-the-earth mindset. In "ROS," Mac Miller captures what it's like to experience close to someone, spending much of this song describing the little things he loves nearly his partner, like her "stained glass" optics, butterscotch-scented pare, and kiwi-flavored lips. The lyrics are intimate in every way, and Mac delivers them with his characteristic rawness.

"These Artillery of Mine" - Otis Redding

Most romantic lyrics: "These artillery of mine, they are lonely/ Alone and feeling bluish/ These artillery of mine, they are yearning/ Yearning from wanting you"

Rationale: This song hits me right in the chest. It's impossible not to feel your artillery and chest aching similar Reddings' when he sings most burning to concord his lover. The music crescendos around his smoothen voice as he begs,  "And if you would let them concord you/ Oh, how grateful I would be." It's such a sweet, earnest plea for love, and its focus on physicality is pretty sexy, too.

"Ex Factor" - Lauryn Hill

Most romantic lyrics: "See, no ane loves yous more than me/ and no ane ever will"

Rationale: No one knows how to obliterate me emotionally quite like Lauryn Colina does. In "Ex Factor" (and on this whole album, let's be real), she's vulnerable, baring all her devotion to her swain. We recognize straightaway that her human relationship is toxic, only Colina's honesty is so beautiful that we humble listeners have no selection just to sit, transfixed, and listen.

"Skinny Love" - Bon Iver

Most romantic lyrics: "Told my dear to wreck information technology all/ Cut out all the ropes and let me fall"

Rationale: When this song came out in 2007, I was in center schoolhouse. I could not end singing it equally I traipsed through my firm, near-tears as I crooned about "the sink of claret and crushed veneer," as though my twelve years on earth had been rife with tragic honey affairs.

All the same, this song still holds up. Bon Iver is a master at depicting what it's like to fully surrender yourself to someone while aware that they may hurt you in the stop. I all the same sing this song while I lounge around my little studio apartment, cartoon on existent-life experiences this time, though I assure you lot that none of them involved claret-filled sinks or crushed veneers.

"Leather and Lace" - Stevie Nicks & Don Henley

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovers forever, face to face/ My city, your mountains/ Stay with me, stay/ I need you to dear me/ I need yous today/ Give me to me your leather, take from me my lace"

Rationale: This is Stevie Nicks' lyricism at its most poignant. She wrote "Leather and Lace" herself and and so performed it with Don Henley (of The Eagles) while they were dating. This duet is beautiful in and of itself, but their chemistry and passion for each other makes it all the more impactful. An ex played this for me once, unprompted, and I retrieve thinking, My God, dude. Why would you do this to me?

Wrecked.

The Fashion You Look Tonight" - Frank Sinatra

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovely, never, never change/ keep that incoherent charm/ won't you please arrange it?/ 'Cause I love you/ Only the way you look tonight"

Rationale: Ah, yes. The song that plays at every wedding on world. Popular songs are popular for a reason, though, and this one endures because of the accepting, unconditional sort of love that it depicts. In addition to Sinatra'south version, I'm also partial to Fred Astaire'south rendition in the 1936 moving-picture show Swing Fourth dimension and the sweet even so tongue-in-cheek visuals get along with it.

"Everlasting Lite" - The Blackness Keys

Most romantic lyrics: "Allow me exist your everlasting light/ Your train going away from pain/ Love is the coal that makes this train roll/ Let me be your everlasting low-cal"

Rationale: If you read the lyrics without the music, the whole song sounds kind of similar a late nineteenth century poem. The love in this vocal is so pure and hopeful, and you'll definitely proceeds cool-points past playing The Blackness Keys on a first date.

"To Know Him Is To Love Him" - Amy Winehouse

Most romantic lyrics: "To know, know, know him/ Is to dearest, love, love him/ Only to encounter that smile/ Makes my life worthwhile"

Rationale: No 1 does unbridled love like Amy Winehouse. Her soulful voice takes center stage in this Phil Spector cover, and if you're not already in beloved, it will brand you want to be.

"Similar Existent People Do" - Hozier

Most romantic lyrics: "I will non enquire you where you lot came from/ I will not ask y'all, neither should yous/ Dear, just put your sweet lips on my lips/ Nosotros should just kiss like real people do"

Rationale: Here, Hozier is trying to convince his dearest interest to forget that they both have pasts (who doesn't?) and to simply love him. In that location's a sense that both people in the song consider themselves odd in some way (again, who doesn't?), and that they've been searching for partners like each other for ages. "Like Real People Practise" reminds us of how miraculous information technology feels to love and be loved back.

"Tin can't Take My Eyes Off You" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons

Almost romantic lyrics: "You're simply besides good to be true/ Tin't take my optics off of you/ You lot'd be similar heaven to touch/ I wanna hold yous so much"

Rationale: To quote every Boomer from my home state of New Jersey: They simply don't make 'em like this anymore. And information technology's true―this song manages to residuum emotional and sexual yearning without existence rough.

And only... the gratitude Valli feels when he sings about loving his girl so much that he thanks God he's alive. My Lord. They really just practice not make 'em quite like this anymore.

"Forrest Gump" - Frank Ocean

Most romantic lyrics: "My fingertips and my lips/ They burn from the cigarettes/ Forrest Gump, you run my mind, boy/ Running on my mind, boy"

Rationale: This is Frank Sea's near criminally underrated song and I will fight anyone who has anything negative to say nigh it. In fact, I once made a very loud, spirited defence of this song when I was in loftier school, correct afterwards Ocean'due south sick-received performance of it at the 2013 Grammys.

The song is told from the perspective of Jenny in the 1994 film Forrest Gump. It'southward about a broken, tired person coming back to their pure, indelible love after a great deal of time has passed. It's specially meaningful, in my stance, because Ocean penned the vocal in the wake of his very public coming-out.

"Take Me The Way I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson

Most romantic lyrics: "'Crusade I love you more than than I could ever promise/ And you take me the way I am"

Rationale: What a throwback! Ingrid Michaelson was responsible for some of the sweetest manic-pixie-dream-girl love songs of the early 2000s, and this 1 was her most popular. Michaelson rejoices in having plant a partner who loves her, flaws and all, and she responds in kind, promising to repair what her partner breaks and purchase him Rogaine when his hair starts falling out. Information technology'southward a promise to love someone forever.

"I'm Non Expressionless" - P!nk

Most romantic lyrics: "Right beyond the cigarette and the devilish smile/Yous're my crevice of sunlight/ You can do the math a thousand ways/ Just you tin can't erase the facts/ That others come and others become/ But you e'er come back"

Rationale: This is my favorite era of P!nk'due south music. In "I'thousand Not Expressionless," she writes a frank, unapologetic love vocal about existence a flawed human deeply in beloved with some other flawed human. Waxing poetic about her and her swain's (her future husband, Cary Hart, by the style) tattoos and alluding to her own mental disease, P!nk eschews all tired clichés about love in favor of something far more authentic and affecting.

"Hannah Hunt" - Vampire Weekend

Most romantic lyrics: "A man of faith said hidden eyes could encounter what I was thinkin'/ I just smiled and told him/ That was simply true of Hannah"

Rationale: Oh, Ezra Koenig, how y'all wound me with your cute words! In this song, our narrator seems to exist moving around the U.Due south. with his beloved Hannah until she grows homesick for the e coast. Having lived in New England for around seven years, I'm fractional to this song for its "freezing beaches" references, but it'south too a gentle tribute to the way time glides away when you're with someone y'all love.

"A Song For Y'all" - Donny Hathaway

About romantic lyrics: "I love you in a place/ Where in that location'southward no space or time/ I love you lot for my life/ Y'all're a friend of mine/ And when my life is over/ Remember when we were together"

Rationale: There have been many versions of this vocal, just this ane'southward my favorite. It was as well Amy Winehouse'due south favorite. Donny Hathaway sings this with such feeling that one tin can't help but feel he's reciting a memoir when he sings his apology to a woman he neglected to settle down with because he was also busy performing effectually the world.

"Maps" - Yeah Yep Yeahs

Most romantic lyrics: "Don't stray/ My kind'south your kind/ I'll stay the aforementioned."

Rationale: Yes, this vocal is 90 percent just Karen O singing "Wait, they don't dear y'all like I love you," but it'due south and so powerful! If yous say something the correct way, and the accompanying music is skilful enough, in that location's no need to embellish much more. Proof: Beyoncé clearly nods to this vocal in her 2016 unmarried "Hold Up." "Maps" endures, over a decade later, beyond genres.

"If I Own't Got You lot" - Alicia Keys

About romantic lyrics: "Some people want diamond rings/ Some just want everything/ Simply everything means zippo/ If I ain't got yous"

Rationale: This song is all the more than touching when you remember that she wrote information technology only as she was beginning to go famous. She promises that her renown―the fruit of all her labor―along with promises of riches, jewelry, or endless life would all mean nothing if she didn't take her man.

"Pine Tree Lines" - Told Slant

Most romantic lines: "I am the girl my parents made/ Why don't you lot dear me anyway/ 'Cause I love the fashion you take up space"

Rationale: Devastating genius. Lead singer Felix Walworth delivers this song so earnestly that his voice literally cracks during that last line. I've never heard a simpler or more startlingly accurate depiction of adoration than loving the way someone takes up infinite.

"Inevitable" - Shakira

Nigh romantic lyrics: "To be even more honest/ No one thinks well-nigh you lot/ The way I do" (Translated from Castilian)

Rationale: Shakira spends well-nigh of this vocal laying out all her imperfections―that she doesn't know how to make coffee, that she doesn't empathize soccer, that she oversleeps, etc.―and so proceeds to inquire her human being to beloved her anyhow.

"I Establish You" - Alabama Shakes

Virtually romantic lyrics: "I recollect all them lone days/ I traveled out on my own/ And then you lot brought me everything/ You lot made my firm a home"

Rationale: This is a celebration of finally finding your person. So who better to listen to information technology with than your person? Romantic, indeed.

"Rag Doll" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons

Most romantic lines: "I'd modify her deplorable rags/ Into glad rags if I could/ My folks won't let me/ 'Cause they say that she'south no good."

Rationale: Another Four Seasons song, yeah. I'm from Bailiwick of jersey. Sue me.

Franki Valli declares his unconditional dear for a girl much poorer than he is, fantasizing about replacing her tattered clothes with lace and finery. In spite of her poverty, he ends the song past crying, "I love yous only the fashion y'all are."

He wants to requite everything to someone who can offering him cipher cloth. All he wants is her.

"Since I've Been Loving You" - Led Zeppelin

Most romantic lyrics: "Simply baby, since I've been loving you, aye/ I'm well-nigh to lose my worried mind/ Oh, yes"

Rationale: Man, these lyrics look and so underwhelming when written down sans musical accompaniment. Information technology'south tragic.

What makes this song then romantic, to me, is the organ and bass piece of work by John Paul Jones pair with Robert Found's searing vocals. It's a power blues song that hits you lot right in the gut. If drastic want were a sound, this would be it.

"You Got Me" - Erykah Badu and The Roots

Almost romantic lines: "If you lot don't worry 'bout where/ I been or who I saw  or/ What society I went to with my homies/ Baby, don't worry, y'all know that y'all got me"

Rationale: I cried when I saw this alive. Erykah reassures her boyfriend during the chorus that she'll always be loyal to him, while Blackness Thought (atomic number 82 MC of The Roots) uses his verses to tell the story of a lifelong romance. It'southward the best beloved song in hip hop, easily down.

"(You Make Me Feel Similar) A Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin

Near romantic lyrics: "When my soul was in the lost and found/ Yous came forth to claim it/ I didn't know just what was incorrect with me/ 'Til your kiss helped me name it"

Rationale: We should heal ourselves rather than look around for someone to heal united states of america, but that doesn't hateful that love tin't exist a healing experience. Information technology'due south really romantic to thank someone for making y'all feel skilful, and that's precisely what this song (written by the flawless Carole King) is nigh.

"Jade" - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Most romantic lyrics: "We tin can't help just follow, she'southward Buddha, only watch her/ She moves like an sometime gypsy woman merely swears she'due south a girl/ And all that she asks we'll allow her/ For Jade is the girl of the hour"

Rationale: Alex Ebert wrote this song for Jade Castrinos when they were both still dating and even so the frontpeople of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The vocal is a serenity dear letter to Castrinos―you could imagine Ebert singing it to her at nighttime by the campfire while the residuum of the band is comatose (that'due south this band'southward vibe, really). It'due south a shame that we no longer get to scout the sweet relationship between these talented musicians, merely at least nosotros'll always have this hippie love vocal.

"Wild Horses" - The Rolling Stones

Virtually romantic lyrics: "Graceless lady/ You know who I am/ You know I can't let yous/ Slide through my hands/ Wild horses/ Couldn't drag me away"

Rationale: One of the wildest bands of the '60s and '70s besides happened to write i of the most poignant songs about love and devotion. This is well-nigh a long, deep intimacy betwixt two people, and of being physically unable to resist the person you adore.

"Jim Bogart" - The Forepart Bottoms

Most romantic lyrics: "I would slumber meliorate on your floor/ Than I would ever in my bed/ And if your carpet makes my face up itch/ It'd all the same be heaven in my head"

Rationale: "Jim Bogart" opens with the in a higher place lyrics, sung with atomic number 82 singer Brian Sella'southward signature raw vocals. He abandons all pride in his honey for this girl, promising to practice his guitar every nighttime, to sleep on her floor without complaint, and to to ignore his doctor'south advice―all to win her love. We shouldn't have to debase ourselves for love (*rolls eyes* yeah, yep yeah), but this is art. And if nosotros're being honest, this sentiment is relatable for anyone who's prayed for their love to exist reciprocated.

"Loving Yous" - Elvis Presley

Nearly romantic lyrics: "If I'm seen with someone new/ Don't be blue, don't you lot be blue/ I'll be faithful, I'll be truthful/ Always true, true to you lot"

Rationale: Elvis tells his love not to go jealous or to believe the hype around him and other women, reassuring her that she'southward the i for him. Although multiple sources have claimed that Elvis did, indeed, cheat on his wife, Priscilla, this remains his sweetest love song.

"Melissa" - The Allman Brothers Band

Near romantic lyrics: "Knowing many, loving none/ Bearin' sorrow, havin' fun/ But dorsum home he'll always run/ To sweet Melissa"

Rationale: Here, the Allman Brothers sing about a traveling musician who can't get over his sweetheart no matter how many other women he meets. She ever ends upwards resurfacing in his mind, and eventually, he e'er returns to her.

"My Sometime Man" - Joni Mitchell

About romantic lyrics: "He's my sunshine in the morning/ He's my fireworks at the cease of the day/ He's the warmest chord I ever caput/ Play that warm chord, play and stay, baby"

Rationale: Mitchell'south soaring mezzo-soprano meanders through a portrait of her relationship in this vocal, insisting throughout that, "We don't need no piece of paper from the metropolis hall." She's proverb that she doesn't demand external validation of the human relationship―this man gives her all she needs to feel secure in their bail.

"Devil In a New Apparel" - Kanye West, Rick Ross

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Put your hands to the constellations/ The way you look should be a sin, y'all my sensation"

Rationale: Kanye Westward is a pretty polarizing figure, but this is all the same one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a bloodshot tribute to his infamous relationship with Amber Rose, and this vocal encapsulates the often-sexy, always-complicated connectedness between two people who aren't good for each other, yet can't stay away from one another.

"Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)" - Erykah Badu, Common

Most romantic lyrics: "But that is all behind me/ 'Cause now at that place is no other/ My beloved is his and his is mine/ A friend became the/ Honey of my life"

Rationale: Conventional advice tells us to fall in honey with someone who can be our  friend, too. This vocal is about ii lifelong best friends who find their way back to each other after time spent autonomously. With her famously beguiling vocalisation, Erykah Badu captures the joy of being truly known past one's partner.

"A Dominicus Kind of Love" - Etta James

About romantic lyrics: "I want a Sunday kind of dearest/ A honey to final past Sabbatum dark/ I want to know it's more than love at first sight"

Rationale: We've all been at this point before. If Etta James were to have written this song today, she would have been explaining that she was sick of one-dark-stands and Tinder/Bumble/Hinge dates that get nowhere. She'd be saying she was tired of sweaty strangers in confined shouting into her ear, over deafening music, asking if she wants to take a shot.

Instead, she'd want something substantial. Someone to relax and binge Schitt'south Creek reruns with on the weekends.

May we all notice that Lord's day kind dearest.

"Baby I'thou Yours" - Arctic Monkeys

Almost romantic lyrics: "Baby, I'chiliad yours/ And I'll be yours until the stars fall from the heaven/ Yours until the rivers all run dry out/ In other words, until I die"

Rationale: This vocal sounds similar it was written in the '50s or '60s. In some ways, it's your run-of-the-manufactory slow song, simply in that location's something charming about the Arctic Monkeys being the ones to perform this retro pledge of devotion.

"She Will Be Loved" - Maroon five

Virtually romantic lyrics:"I don't listen spendin' everyday / Out on your corner in the pourin' rain"

Rationale:I call up listening to this vocal in eye schoolhouse, wishing that the male child I had a vanquish on would love me enough to stand up exterior my window in the rain. In hindsight, that would take been awkward and inconvenient to explain to my mother, and these days I would probably find such behavior creepy (when I'm in my pajamas in my apartment, peacefully eating Takis and watching The Sopranos, the last thing I need is a man standing outside, watching me from the street like something out of The Exorcist), simply the sentiment of this song still stands.

"Because the Night" - Patti Smith

Nigh romantic lyrics: "Come on, at present, endeavour and sympathize/ The way I feel when I'g in your hands/ Take my mitt, come undercover/ They tin't hurt y'all now"

Rationale: In this vocal, which was originally written by lyrical legend Bruce Springsteen, Smith promises her lover that he'south safe with her. If you've read Smith's book Merely Kids, you'll probably listen to this song and think of her and Robert Mapplethorpe singing and dancing to it down the streets of lower Manhattan.

"La Vie En Rose" - Edith Piaf

Most romantic lyrics: "When he holds me in his arms/ And he speaks to me softly/ I meet the globe through rose-colored glasses" (Translated from French)

Rationale: Yous definitely know this song. It's the go-to for every romantic scene in every American movie most France. And, granted, it's a groovy option for a dinner appointment, especially if y'all desire to get a little dull dancing started.

"Someday" - The Growlers

Most romantic lyrics: "Just stay for one more nighttime/ 1 twenty-four hours you're gonna be my wife/ You lot'll never have to worry again/ I'chiliad gonna be your man"

Rationale: Information technology sounds lead vocalizer Brooks Nielsen's now-married woman was getting actually ill of his bullshit, and that he wrote this song as a plea to get her to say. Information technology'southward poetic, energetic, and hopeful, and it would have worked on me, too, tbh.

"Wouldn't It Exist Nice" - The Beach Boys

Near romantic lyrics: "Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?/ Then we wouldn't take to wait so long"

Rationale: This is sung from the perspective of someone who'southward already certain about who he wants to spend the rest of his life with. And he's wishing that the rest of his life could starting time right now.

"Stay" - Rihanna, Mikky Ekko

Almost romantic lyrics: "Non really sure how to feel well-nigh information technology/ Somethin' in the way you motility/ Makes me feel similar I tin't live without yous"

Rationale: Dear isn't a formula. At that place'southward no real logic to why we autumn in love with some people simply not others, and Rihanna hits the nail on the caput when she says information technology's merely "something in the way [he] move[s]." Information technology's reminiscent of The Beatles' song "Something." Speaking of which...

"Something" - The Beatles

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Something in the way she moves / Attracts me like no other lover / Something in the fashion she woos me / I don't want to leave her at present"

Rationale:This vocal is a slow, dreamy ode on an otherwise bluesy album. George Harrison was the Beatle who penned it, writing that he wasn't sure what exactly triggered his beloved or whether it would grow.  All he knew was that the love was there, and that that should be enough.

"Androgynous" - The Replacements

Virtually romantic lyrics: "And they love each other and so/ Androgynous/ Closer than we know, honey each other so/ Androgynous"

Rationale: This song is near ii non-binary people falling in dearest, which is pretty cool for a vocal from 1984. Our main characters, archetypically named Dick and Jane, dearest each other regardless of gender. The Replacements make a compelling argument about why traditional gender roles and habiliment should make no difference if you're truly in dearest with someone.

"I'll Be Seeing Y'all" - Billie Holiday

Almost romantic lyrics: "I'll find yous in the morning sun/ In every lovely summertime's day/ In everything that'due south right and gay/ I'll always think of y'all"

Rationale: You know when yous're freshly in love (or heartbroken), and everything reminds y'all of that person? That'south what this vocal is almost. Everything effectually Vacation―the natural earth, a park, a buffet, a carousel―is a fond reminder of her beloved.

"Sunday Candy" - Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

Most romantic lyrics: "Yous've got to movement it slowly/ Take information technology in my torso like information technology'southward holy/ I've been waiting for you for the whole week/ I've been praying for y'all, y'all're my Dominicus candy"

Rationale: The Social Experiment is the hip hop commonage that boasts members such as Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa (the former of which is featured heavily on this song). Jamila Woods performs the chorus to this song so sweetly that it's piece of cake to forget the sexual implications, and she and Chance tell the story of a couple that spends a week at a time missing each other, absorbed in thoughts of ane another until they're finally reunited.

"Come up Equally You Are" - Nirvana

Nigh romantic lyrics: "Come as you are/ As you were/ As I desire y'all to exist"

Rationale: There are many interpretations of what this vocal means, ranging from mental health to friendship to commentary on inauthenticity. But, to me, "Come As You Are" works as the ultimate grunge love song; as a hope to beloved and appreciate someone only the way they are.

"Delight, Please, Please" - James Brown

Most romantic lyrics: "Baby please, baby delight, please me/ Baby please, baby please don't get/ Don't get, I said babe, don't baby/ I dear yous then"

Rationale: This song is almost entirely comprised of James Brown repeating "please," and, supposedly, he got a lot of flack from his producers most that before its release. Merely, like the Aye Yeah Yeahs' "Maps," this track's magic lies in the passion with which it's delivered–and James Brown is cypher if not passionate.

"I Will Ever Dear You" - Dolly Parton

Most romantic lyrics: "And I hope life will treat yous kind/ And I hope that y'all have all/ That you ever dreamed of/ Oh, I do wish you joy/ And I wish you happiness/ But to a higher place all this/ I wish you love"

Rationale: Without a dubiety, y'all're familiar with Whitney Houston'south rendition of "I Will E'er Love You lot," but I love Dolly Parton's soft-spoken, country version as well. Where Houston belts, Parton croons, making this a peachy alternative for when y'all want to hear this vocal on a tranquility evening in.

 "Songbird" - Fleetwood Mac

Most romantic lyrics: "And I wish you all the love in the world/ Only most of all, I wish information technology from myself/ And the songbirds proceed singing/ Like they know the score"

Rationale: Fleetwood Mac'south members were notorious for hooking upwardly within their ranks, and Christine McVie (writer and primary vocalizer on this vocal) was no exception. This is a unique love song, considering it does unconditional honey different whatever other: It illustrates how it's entirely possible to love someone and want the all-time for them while accepting, admitting sadly, that yous might not exist that best thing.

"Starting time Twenty-four hours of My Life" - Bright Optics

Nigh romantic lyrics: "But I realized I need y'all/ And I wondered if I could come up dwelling house"

Rationale: This Bright Optics track makes me wish I was better at playing guitar. Frontman Conor Oberst makes a frank plea for his beloved, telling her, "I'm glad I didn't die before I met you lot," and asking for permission to approach. Information technology's an exercise in startling honesty, and the result, similar the whole anthology, is profound.

"Ocean of Honey" - Cat Power

Almost romantic lyrics: "Come with me, my love/ To the sea, the sea of dearest/ I wanna tell you lot/ How much I honey you "

Rationale: Originally, the last song on this list was going to be T.I.'s "Any You Like" because I'm determined that it volition play at my wedding one day (I'thousand not kidding), only "Sea of Dear" is too romantic to turn down. With minimal instrumentation, True cat Power delivers a cursory simply heartfelt love letter whose genius lies in its profound simplicity. 10/10.
